Hopalong Hollow....

Hopalong Hollow, where the Blueberries grow sweet, and the moss feels soft beneath your feet.

Hither, Thither and Yon...

The Lord and Lady of the Manor have been traveling hither, thither and yon of late, but are relieved to be back at the Hollow at long last. However, you never know what sort of surprises await when one has been away from the abode. Things happen....
Strange Alliances form,

some that you would least expect.

Wild and Crazy chicks decide to settle down and raise a family...

like Demelza,

and Trudy Webbytoes.

Little, new people move into your barn....
REALLY cute, little people!

Vines take over the world!

eating your fences,

engulfing your pump house,

and devouring your tea tables and chairs!

But your summer gardens are lush...
and tall,

Yes, a lot can happen when one is away.
Home sweet home, there is no place like it.

  1. Welcome home sweet Jeri!!! Yes, a lot of interesting things happen when we turn our backs on nature, but the queen of the cottage is back, and all shall oblige.....we hope! Everyone looks handsome....CARRY ON!

Lovely images of a magical home...Anita

  2. Dear Jeri ~ I've been wondering about you. Glad you and your hubby have returned safely to your home sweet home. I'm sure you'll have things in control before too long. Love your critters and the baby chicks are so cute.

It is always great to return to your own little home, no matter where you've been.

I love your new shed and it's paint job and the lovely garden is has.

Your country/mountain place is always a treat to see, and your stories a delight to read.

  3. Oh I would love to come home to a place like yours...sigh...one day perhaps...Susan

  4. Love your summer garden Jeri - and all of the feathered characters. How are you? It's been so long since I visited, life seems to have been hectic of late!

  5. Dearest Jeri,

Yes, Dame Judi and Dame Helen are MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE actresses because of their great thespian skills, but also for the way they carry themselves....Seeing them makes you want more PATINA!!!! AND.....I just noticed that I missed the post prior to this...how can that be.....I have you on my blog list....I MISSED THE ACTION!!!!!! Oh dear, I simply can't miss another escapade chez toi! :)

Have a fun-filled and wonderful weekend with your creatures; they are sooooooooo cute! I need a dog. I want a scrappy wire haired fox terrier!

  6. Oh, those sweet little peeps!

My tomatoes decided to take over while we were away--why do things grow better while we're on vacation?!

  8. Anyone is welcome to visit us here in the Hollow, just call first so we can tidy the Burrow a bit!
Meadowsweet, How are your little buffs doing? I have to confess, I pulled a switcheroo on the little black hen, those were not her eggs she hatched, they are baby buffs from another hen. But I won't tell her, if you won't!
Thankyoy scot, it is nice to be missed!

  10. Hi Jeri
You have been missed.. Oh how wonderful it must be to step outside the door to see such beauty. Your garden flowers are so full and lush, and I just love the chicks.
    Enjoy your day.

  11. Every day, I count my blessings. To be able to live in such a beautiful place, full of nature and wonderful little critters, is such a joy!

  12. I had to smile at all of the 'goings on' around the Hollow :)
Is there ever a dull day ?
You must have been gone awhile, those vines are huge !
Sweet, and precious little chicks, and beautiful flowers, simply perfect.

  13. Glad you're back Jeri. I find that no matter how long you've been away from the garden you can always see such growth when you come back again - even for short breaks. I'm sure that vine is well undercontrol again and that those baby chicks are twice the size now.

  14. Like a visit to my Aunt Joy's, I love love the Hollow! We are gloriously green this spring with all the rain. I'm hoping I can start my weeding, I am so behind on everything in the garden.

Please do leave a word or two, we SO like to hear from you!
