God Bless America... So there!

I read recently that certain sports events are attempting to ban the singing of "God Bless America" at their games.....On the premise that it might be offensive to some people in the audience.
Can you believe it?
Of course you can; in this climate of self-hatred and anger towards anything that smacks of Patriotism or National Pride.
WELL, I for one am sick and tired of it, and I say :
God Bless America
God Bless the American People
 and
Thank God
for the Declaration of Independence
and the CONSTITUTION
which were written to protect, for one thing,
OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

So won't my fellow Americans join me in singing...
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Happy Independence Day to you all!

The Song, "God Bless America" was written in 1918 by Irving Berlin. It was first performed on stage by Kay Starr in 1938.

  2. Jeri, I wish you a very Happy 4th of July, and thank you also for reminding me of Kate Smith...I could hear her voice without even clicking on that link.

  3. God Bless America, indeed, Jeri! We must never forget the freedoms we enjoy are not afforded to many. Three cheers for the red, white and blue! Our home sweet home! ♥

  4. Uh oh, Jeri, I think I remember the version of that song. I think my favorite patriotic song is America The Beautiful. I can't even remember if that is the name. Amber waves of grain, purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain....

  6. Jeri,
I personally think banning this song is shameful.. There are just some things that should not change.. In God we Trust and God Bless America.
Thank you for this post. Very well said!
    Bless you,
    Penny

  8. Good morning Jeri!

    I agree with YOU.

One of the things that always perturbed me about this concern that certain people would be "offended" is in the public schools. NOTHING that has any hint of God or even holiday traditions has been banned or the names of these holidays have been changed. My honest opinion is that quietly, nonchalantly and "cleverly", God has been taken out of the picture in so many ways. That's just my opinion. So with you dear friend, I shout out, "GOD BLESS AMERICA" And, God bless us ALL.

    Happy fourth!

  10. AMEN! I'm also sick of this "do not offended anyone", if they don't like it then leave---go live in a 3rd world country. I love the freedom that we have here in the USA, God Bless American.
