Pippity's Peas

Moving along on the little book....

I'm able to work on the porch as the weather has been pleasant and delightful.

Painting Peas is also a pleasure,

and Preying Mantis as well.... he is my very best bug.

.

I make a real mess when I paint. I generally have 3 palettes going at once AND I  use the masking tape  Border for a palette as well .

I dearly love my new character, Pippity Trimble
I hope my readers will love her too, especially since I plan on having  6 volumes in this series.

It's easy to come up with mouse stories for

a very small mouse, in a very small book.

Now I am painting the pantry......
I really enjoy painting tiny things.

I loaded several new images  of Hopalong Hollowfolk onto my website this weekend.
Please give it a look-see at:

Look at the size of those pears, they are HUGE...but virtually inedible. The pear tree provides us with vast quantities of fruit...but it is SO HARD. My donkeys, sheep and goat are the happy recipients of the  bounty.

  1. I thought they were gourds. There is a very old tree at the farm that has the same kind of pears and very hard. I peel and eat some. I bet they would can well, if you like canned pears. I eat one or two a year, so I'm not a big pear fan. The painting looks like fun. What kind of weather is this? Cool here too and cooler this week to come.

    1. Oh Donna, I wish I could eat these pears... I sometimes bake one with cinnamon and honey. I would can them if I had the time The barn dwellers get a treat every day, not to mention the variety of bees and wasps that gorge on the fallen ones.

  2. I think you are a master of detail--and patience--to be able to draw and paint such an abundance of small things! A smaller book must be going much faster for you--a quicker reward for all your effort.

  6. hehehehehehehhehehehehhe.....with my bad eyesight, I didn't see the pears, and when I read your words, "Look at the size of those pears", I thought you were referring to those DARLING Pear-shaped bunnies! OK Anita, time for new glasses....

    Jeri Landers, YOU ARE PROLIFIC!!!!!!!

Your happiness is contagious, but I find my joy in sitting down making a mess with POETRY and photography. What a beautiful life...

    Blessings to you!

    1. Anita, those are your true talents... I'm certainly not a poet and I was just fussing about my poor photography skills today. We all have our gifts...

    1. Friend, It IS a nice palette, one I've not used before. Believe it or not, the pantry page will take less time than a page with flowers on it... I have a real painful time painting flowers.

  9. Jeri, you have such a pretty place to sit and work...and you are just lovely! Your work is amazing. Wish I had just a teeny tiny bit of your talent. I do love Pippity. I like the praying mantis. It reminds me of the big green one I saw on a rose bush last week.

  10. Darn, I haven't seen a single mantis this year! I find them so fascinating. This porch is a great place to paint, the views, the sounds and the light are all perfection.

Can hardly wait for this set of books. I especially love how God provides each of us with special artistic talents. Look at all the different ones mentioned in the comments!
