I must share one of the funniest reviews I have ever read. The hilarity of it stems from the fact it was written by a child, who probably had to write a review as a school project. The reviewer does a few flip-flops, but the honesty is refreshing!
A Kid's Review...spelling mistakes included
This review is for: "The Hello, Goodbye Window"
"I thought that your book was okay but you could
have done beter. It was better than most books but maybe not the best.
I did LOVE that one night sky picture. The book was better than
nothing. I really like your teqniche of illistrateing how you can
scrible and the way you color with craon and than scrtch it off. You
could of maybe made the "MAGIC WINDOW" be more exciting. The pictures
are not slopy and that is GREAT!!!!! I was not a fan of the words in
the book but the pictures are awsome!! There is really good teckture
and color in the pictures!!! I am going to be honest it is not my
favorite book ever. I will say that you people who wrote the book THE
HELLO GOODBYE WINDOW really worked hard!!! thank you for your time!!!!
Needless to say, I did not purchase the book.
Here is the first clutch of eggs from my lovely lavender hens.
BLUE!
I had 2 for breakfast.
A bunny Brooch.
I have 5 needle-felted Bunny Brooches left over from my shows.

They are available for $112. in different shades of bunny.
I will be listing all my critters that did not find homes this year on my website within the next few days.
AH..... home at last with no more shows!
teeehee........leave it to a child to give you the HONEST opinion! teeeheee.....
ReplyDeleteAND.....TELL ME, how does a blue egg taste????? I bet there's nothing like it; my uncle used to have a friend whose gorgeous ranch was our summer get-away. He had all sorts of animals, and when we'd camp out on his property during the summer, we'd all trek up to the ranch and sit down to a real, farm-style breakfast with eggs from the hens. There is NO taste like the taste of fresh eggs. What a gorgeous blue, Jeri!
THEN....there's these brooches. SWOON.
Welcome home, Jeri. Rest up.
Anita, Fresh eggs are so GOOD! The yolks are much darker, and the flavor is richer. I was a little disappointed that some of the eggs were not pink and green, as they should have been.... those hens all decided that blue was their favorite color.
DeleteYour bunny brooches are just wonderful! And I love the review!
ReplyDeleteDebra, The brooches came about when a woman told me she was going to pin the reclining rabbit she purchased from me, to her jacket. "That's a great idea!" I said, and proceeded to put pin backs on all the reclining bunnies.
ReplyDeleteThe bunny broaches are just adorable------as are all of your creations.
ReplyDeleteWhat do the blue eggs (wonderful color) taste like--------maybe blueberry flavored?
Finally home, there's no place like it. Now you can just sit around and rest; like that would really happen!
Vic, Yeah, like that would really happen! My husband says I never stop. Winter is a very productive time.
ReplyDeleteBlue eggs don't taste blue, just very rich and eggy, because they are fresh. I almost hate to break them, they're so pretty.
That review was funny. I almost think an adult wrote it instead of a child. Eggs are pretty; almost like mallard eggs, but a little bluer.
ReplyDeleteDonna, It was in the kids review section, but you never know! I do long for green eggs, but the girls are partial to the blue it seems.
DeleteWhat a cute review!
ReplyDeleteThose blue eggs are so pretty. How wonderful to collect and eat your own fresh eggs.
Your little bunny brooch is adorable! I am beading today and having a ball doing it. I needed to create again.
Happy Holidays dear Jeri ~ FlowerLady
Lorraine, I love your bead work, it is stunning and charming at the same time.
DeleteI am chuckling Jeri. Only through the eyes of a child. Your lavender hen has done a super jib laying those blue eggs. The bunny brooch is adorable. So glad you are home safely from your travels. Bet you will be busy getting ready for Christmas now. Have a grand weekend. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDeb, I am so ready to decorate for Christmas because we have a grandson now!
DeleteChildren are so honest and even with the mistakes with spelling and grammar, you got the point. What beautiful eggs you have there. I hope you save some to do your lovely artwork on them. Welcome home! ♥
ReplyDeleteMartha, Chicken eggs are too fragile to etch, that requires a duck or a goose egg. But I assure you, these eggs will make many an omelet and the extras will be scrambled up for the dogs.
Deletefrom the mouths of babes......
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
DeleteBlue eggs! I'd have a hard time cracking them--I'd want to preserve them as they are. And how very special to have one of your bunnies on your shoulder. Wouldn't that be a conversation starter......if he was a character in one of your books you could promote the book that way!
ReplyDeleteCathy, Those shoulder bunnies do get a lot of attention! I like to think that all the rabbits hopped right out of my books!
DeleteBelly chuckle!! What a tickle that review was!!
ReplyDeleteOH MY those eggs are SPLENDID!!!! :-)
You had something left over from your shows??? ;-)
These bunny broaches are so darling!!
Sending love and warmth hope you are enjoying a bit
of unwinding!! xx oo Linnie
Linnie, Those fat hens are laying like crazy! It's a good thing we like eggs around here.
DeleteI made a lot of rabbits, squirrels and mice this year, so I have about 35 pieces still looking for a Christmas home.
Wishing you a wonderful season!
Wow, those are some VERY blue eggs! We had "rainbow layers" but all we got were sort of light pastel greens and pink. Those are so pretty! And that book review, definitely a kid. *giggle*
ReplyDeleteGosh Kyra, i would really love it if my eggs were green. I actually tried to find chickens that would lay olive green eggs, but never was able to locate the breed.
DeleteHi Jeri,
ReplyDeleteI got a real kick out of that review.. I could almost see the child's expressions while reading it.. How funny!
I love the blue eggs.. Look as if they were dipped! I am sure they were very good.
Your bunny broach is darling!
Your grandson is going to have the time of his life at the Hollow during the Christmas season.
Blessings to you and family,
Penny
Hi Penny, You are right, you can almost read the kids mind as he struggles to say SOMETHING nice about a book he Really did not like. I've seen the book myself and maybe that is why I find the review so funny, because the artwork really IS ghastly, and yet, the book won a Caldecott. That is probably why the class room had to write a review for that particular book.
