One bun a week....

 I began the week
with a table full of bits and pieces,
(meant to BECOME fine little individuals).

I want someone really special to sell at the online show this coming Saturday,
Early American folk art and Trades Marketplace

I'm settling on this wiry little rust colored bun to finish up in time for the show.
Each day, for the rest of the week, I will show you how he is coming along... And then, On Saturday, his TRUE self will be revealed on the Marketplace website.
See my post below for the full details of this online show.
Cheers! Jeri

  1. To see the INNERS of these critters is very revealing yet again of your persistence, your precision and devotion to this art, Jeri. I assume those white things that look like DISCS on a spine are to make the creature flexible? BRILLIANT! You must have good eyes. I could never, ever do this with this wacky eyesight of mine that is becoming worse as I age. I can hardly enjoy a book these days, and here you are, creating such wonder. LOVE IT!!!!!!!

    1. Hey Anita! Those white things are the Spines, so to speak. Articulated to move in any direction, I use them in the necks and arms of the larger animals.
My eyes are not good anymore, I wear strong reading glasses when I work and a magnifying light when I paint, so sad!

Your photos make it clear how much detail, small detail work your creatures take for you to put them together.
they are amazingly beautiful and charming they are.

    1. May, I try to create the intricacies I dearly love to see in other artists work and what I see in actual animals. It's fun to see how close I can get to realism while still maintaining a whimsical look.

  5. Hi Debbie, I do love making these. Working with the soft wool, stitching with vintage fabrics and mohair is somehow a very soothing process. And I did have a beautiful day, thank you!
