A Spring gift.
For gardeners, lovers of gardens or just plain lovers of the good earth and all it provides for us.
This is an offset lithographic reproduction of one of my painted papercuttings. It is signed and numbered and the size is 16x20. We hang one of these prints in our Keeping Room in an antique frame. I sold the original long ago to a woman Dairy Farmer! (Don't you just love that?) The poem inside reads:
"For rain and snow and sun of seasons,
For bounty given throughout the year,
And bins heaped high with Harvest cheer;
For blazing sun and pouring rain,
That beat upon the golden grain;
And work within the sheaves of wheat,
To give us tasty bread to eat;
For fleecy clouds and skies of blue,
For all earths beauty, ever new;
And all the joys that are to be,
We offer thanks, Oh Lord, to thee."

And I offer thanks to those of you who read our Gazette!
We here in Hopalong Hollow would love to give away an unframed print of The Good Earth.
So please leave a comment, from anywhere in the wide, wide world, and your lovely name will be popped into the egg basket.
To be retrieved by one of our little, or big critters.
Come back here on May 20th for the name of the winner.
And in the meantime, enjoy this most wondrous time of year, wherever you happen to be on this good earth.
Pick me pick me...would love to have one of your prints. Thanks so much! Susan

Hello Jeri...I'm catching up and reading your recent blog posts. Such a glorious print. Your talent amazes me. What gorgeous gardens you're growing! This midwestern girl calls rosemary an 'erb, but when I lived in Massachusettes, it was pronounced with the h sound. I guess it's a regional/country type thing.
ReplyDeleteHave a most wonderful day!
Oooooh, I would so love to have your print!! Please place my name in the egg basket. I should hope that perhaps a little beetle will choose ME! ME! ME! to be the winner as he surely knows I am partial to the many little beetles that inhabit the earth and to your beautiful artwork.
