Mathilda the Goose tries again..

Dear, dear Tilly. Her hearts desire is to be a mommy and so she sits and sits on her stone cold eggs that never will hatch.

Once, she sat on colored plastic balls that were lying in the yard. She gathered them in her nest and spread her wings and warmth upon the red, green and blue spheres.
It was so sad and pathetic.
Another time, I gave her 2 ducklings from an overburdened hen. All went well until the ducklings realized they were NOT GEESE and swam away to be with the other ducks, deserting Mathilda in the process.

I have decided to Purchase 2 goslings for Mathilda, and place them beneath her body so that she will think she hatched them.
I've been shopping for little baby geese online and have a few potential adoptees in mind.
I can hardly wait to see her face when she realizes she is a mommy at last!

  4. Dear Jeri - what a sad Matilda - looks like you are going to give her some loving joy. Can't wait to see her new little ones. Looks like you got a bit of spam in your comments. A week ago saw some other blogger had the same type of problem. Take care and have a great weekend. Hugs!

  6. "Waltzing Matilda" will be thrilled with little ones to teach how to dance. I'll bet she will be a good mother. Most good mothers have alot of patience and she must if she has continually sit and sit.

    1. Judi, She will be the best goose mama ever! Geese are very motherly by nature, even the males have a nurturing personality.

    1. Laurie, Some geese get Broody, others do not. Hope your Daughter's goose has more luck than our Tilly!
