Fun stuff!

I've been so negligent in posting on this blog, I'm not even sure anyone is listening anymore.

Nevertheless, here we are after weeks of rain, and the dreadful incident involving one of our dogs.
Keats was attacked by 2 vicious monster dogs, who got through our fences; wrecked due to heavy flooding rains.
That occurred a month ago and he is 85% healed after much TLC.
The dogs ambushed him and had him on the ground when James witnessed the  happening from the window. Our dog had horrible wounds and gashes, the monsters were trying to kill him. Although James had his gun, but the dogs got away; eager to torment some other hapless creature in the woods, no doubt.
I don't think Keats will ever be the same, he sticks to me like glue... because I was his nurse thru-out. He doesn't want to sleep outside anymore and gets very upset with his brother over the least little thing... poor boy!
New art for the Spring Season!
These will be prints, but I really designed them to be Flat note cards. You write your letter on the backside of the image and slip it in the envelope. The cards are 4"x 9".

snippets of the cards....

I made a new video on Garden Cloches... it's almost  time for we garden lovers to get our fingernails dirty and our noses sunburned. I did it today while planting 15 Peony roots.

Thanks  to those of you who are still here... sorry I've been such a slouch about posting and visiting.
  Fondly from the Hollow, Jeri

    1. They are rogue dogs that run wild. I've encountered 3 dead dogs in the last few months, it's not safe to take a walk in the woods without a gun now. Keats is doing okay, just needs to get over the mental trauma.

  2. Thank goodness James saw the attack in time to save Keats. Keats is traumatized, of course, and has the soul of a sensitive poet as his name suggests.

    1. I never thought he was the poetic type, but now I find the name to be quite fitting!

  3. Poor Keats, but so glad his human Dad came to the rescue. Hopefully Keats will become more calm as time goes on.

Love your little ducks and your note cards are sweet.

Have a great weekend ~ FlowerLady

    1. Dad is the hero! At the time of the attack, I think every vet in town was at the vet convention, ( not kidding!) So he didn't get a vet for 3 more days and I learned to take care of his wounds and well being It was quite a learning experience for a queasy person

    1. I really am working on the garden book, it's just that I keep adding more and more art to the pages. Just drew 6 full bird illustrations that need to be painted. It may be years before I finish. It's to be my Opus I think.

  5. My comment just got eaten up!!!!!!!!

I am terribly sorry to hear of Keats' situation Jeri. This is a cruel world but love does heal....you are his source of calm and peace. I'm still here, but yes, many bloggers have quit. So good to see you again.

  6. I can always count on you! Loved your music and poetry today. I listened to that lovely pianist at least 6 times in a row. Keats is in the room with me, so he enjoyed it too... maybe it calmed him down a bit.

I hope the county animal control finds the awful dogs.

    1. Thanks for your prayers. Maybe the coyotes will take care of the wild dogs... (I don't know which is worse for our domestic farm critters)

  9. I always anxiously await your posts! Just recently I came back here to your blog to see if maybe I had missed something. I am so sorry to hear about Keats. Will it ever be safe for your dogs to be out there again with those monster dogs roaming the area?
Hope they don't bother any of the other animals on your farm?

  10. Hi Dianne, It was in the line of duty that Keats was attacked. All the ducks, geese, chickens and peacocks were in the same meadow as he was. I think the wild dogs were after the birds when Keats stepped in to protect them. His brother, Liam, was in the house at the time, else he may have helped his Bro.

  11. Ug this sends shudders up my back-I know too well the threat of wild, ugly beasts that want to kill pets and livestock. It's awful. I'm going to pray against those dogs. Hopefully some kind of game warden is aware of this-something should be done to track those dogs and kill them.
    Your cards are wonderful!
And rest assured-we are still reading and following life at The Hollow.
    Love to you all-especially Keats.

    1. Debra, I thank you for that, Wild dogs have been a problem around here for many years. It comes of ppl dumping their dogs and leaving them to fend for themselves. It's a sad situation all around.

  12. Oh my Jeri I am so sad about Keats. Very thankful he is getting better. We have coyotes here and they pose a threat to our small animals. Don't worry too much about my German Shepherds...they are larger and think they would hold their own but one never knows. Love your beautiful cards and video on cloches. I don't own one but am going out to see about purchasing them. Have a big trifle dish that might work if I found a large enough pot to cover with using it as a glass dome. Of course I wouldn't be able to use it for trifle :(! As always I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to The Hollow. Hugs!

    1. Debbie, I never thought great Pyrenees would be challenged by any dog, so I was really shocked about this. They're bark is frightful, but apparently not enough to scare off wild dogs. Be careful!

  13. I'm hoping Keats has fully recovered by now, but it sounds like it may take a while. I loved your garden video, as always, and, as always, it makes me itchin' to get out into my garden! But alas, we have snow on the ground and windchill temps of 13 here in Maryland!

    1. Cathy, We've had buckets of rain and freezing temps; I really don't know how I've managed to get so much work done in the garden. Keats is Nearly back to normal, still limping a bit.

  14. Oh the poor guy! I can't believe those dogs got in and attacked him! I'm glad he's recovering! I haven't been posting in my blog as much... it feels like the blogosphere is dying off, and while I still want to write (I thought a lot about restarting my own blog that isn't just about art), I'm not really sure that's much of a thing anymore. Where did everyone go?? :)

    1. Kyra,There is no doubt that the blogosphere is dying off; there remain very few of us. I myself have become negligent in posting and visiting. Many have gone to facebook... I don't even like FB; I have an account but rarely visit it. YouTube is my best outlet nowadays, there seems to be more interest, more viewers and more comments.
