The video for the Potager Picket Fence...

This video goes with the post beneath.
I find myself using YouTube more than blogger these days.  I find it's easier and more interesting to portray my garden in video than in  photographs.

 My thanks to those of you who visit my blog;
it seems that many have gone to other platforms and dropped blogging.  I used  Facebook for awhile, but frankly, find it less personal than a blog or You Tube video.
I continue to blog, not as often as before since I am using my You Tube Channel as an  extension of the  Hopalong Hollow Gazette.
Please visit my channel, you will see much that you don't see here!
 Fondly from the Hollow, Jeri

  3. Hello dearest Jeri....yeah, bummer that blogging has changed so drastically. I am grateful however, that I feel that I got into blogging right at a time when so many others were feeling the novelty of it and expressing themselves in so many creative and fun ways. Many a good friendship were had and I'll never forget these friends.

YOUR POTAGER is stunning. The details that both of you put into the work you do at The Hollow never stop inspiring. Thank you Jeri!

    1. Anita, You are a faithful reader for sure, I appreciate that alot. I never did get into Instagram, and can't even sign into the site, so I remain a blogger.
My dear little Potager is now my favorite space.

  4. I always enjoy your posts~ and, because I like to make the pictures bigger, and enjoy the details, and study them, I continue to be a fan of the still photos of a blog... (and /or Instagram)... Of course You Tube is great for a nice tour around to get the lay of the lands, and see how it all connects! Thanks for sharing your world! :)))

    1. Melody, I enlarge photographs as well to get a really good look.
There will always be place for Blogger in my world, as it is a journal. It's fun to go way back and read things we posted years ago, how spaces change, pets change, we change...

  5. Oh I love this video, it does show how everything connects with everything else--hard to do with just still pics.

I too miss blogs which do seem to be going the way of the dodo (maybe not so completely I hope). You seem to get a better feel for the person writing them and less of the "everything is perfect around here theme" than with facebook and instagram. Those I find to be pretty superficial.

I do appreciate the fact that a blog does take more time to organize and write and can become burdensome for the writer but I do enjoy them so much. So I'm glad to hear that you are going to continue blogging maybe less often but still now and again. I'll check out your YouTube more often as well.

    1. Vic, Many of the blogs I liked have disappeared, but I guess I don't want to be a dodo bird! Hah!
Blog posts are pretty easy to put together for me, but videos are a LOT of work and sometimes take up to 8 hours to upload! Still, I think they have a lot more impact and I enjoy making them.

  6. I love your "new" garden, Jeri! I've just subscribed to your YouTube channel. You have 3.5K followers! Wow! I'm not surprised at all. I love your videos. I have lost interest in blogging and will probably limit those I read as well. Yours, however, will be one I keep on my Reading List and now viewing list.

    1. Thanks for that Cathy, yours is actually one that I still read as well. Yeah, that is pretty wild to have that many subscribers on YouTube, but some garden channels have 10's 0f thousands of readers. I'm grateful that anyone watches the videos. It's very interesting that one of my videos has well over a million views; it's a simple, short video showing my peacock family strutting around the yard. The funny part is that although it has 2K thumbs up, it has 300 thumbs down... and it's just a cute video with birds... go figure!

  8. Dear Jeri - I hope that blogging never goes away. I just love reading about people's journeys and seeing where they live. It would certainly be a shame to not have blogs to visit. I always enjoy yours. The videos are wonderful too.
Will be checking out your You Tube channel. Take care friend and have a blessed holiday weekend. Hugs!

    1. Debbie, I still don't understand why so many stopped blogging. Many went to Instagram, twitter and FB. But those social medias will eventually go De-funct and you and I will still be blogging!

  9. I have loved your blog, Jeri. It's beautiful and I enjoy your writing. I am not fond of videos, but if making them is the most pleasing to you way to share your artistry, then of course you must follow your muse. As for blogging, maybe I AM the dodo; I do enjoy writing and will continue even if I must someday return to a paper journal and a pen.
