Loving America

With all the discord and loathing we see these days from the America bashers, I ask you to  take a moment and consider all the good things about your country, this country,
 AMERICA
on her 242nd Birthday.
I may just overload you with some Patriotism today in the form of music.
.
These little kids have learned to honor America and to be proud of their heritage.
When I was a student, we were actually taught to love our country.... instead of disparaging  it; as seen in so many colleges today.

For the more discerning music tastes here is the US army Band and Chorus, performing the same song.

God Bless America
by KATE Smith
.

God Bless the USA!

  America the Beautiful
Did you sing any of these songs when you were in school? We sang all of them!

Wherever you live in this world, I hope you live in a country that you love too

  1. I sang all these songs and love them and the USA. What a great Constitution and Bill of Rights we have.

  2. Oh Jeri, thank you SO MUCH for posting these words and the patriotic music, as well!!! I just un-followed someone from the country to the north of us; she wrote a Canada Day post and just had to rat on the country "south of the border." Don't criticize until you've walked in our shoes. And you're right, too many Americans live here and benefit from our many good things, and they can do nothing but run this country down. They're welcome to leave anytime.

Your post is just perfect (sorry I had to vent). :D Happy Fourth of July, Jeri!

    Hugs,

    Denise

    1. Venting is very welcome! As for Canada, "People who live in glass houses, etc. etc".
Some of the biggest problems we have are the lack of truth, and the distorting of American History. I pity our youth, unless they are home-schooled or have a good teacher, they are taught all the negative aspects of this land of ours and little of it's beautiful and honorable accomplishments.

  4. Oh Jeri, thank you so much. It's so refreshing to hear something positive about our beautiful country. Negativity and bashing fix nothing! "Be the change you want to see." From Ruth Ann in Michigan

  6. I heard the America the Beautiful yesterday, and I cried. Yes, we sang all these songs in school, and it's telling how what you are taught as a child STAYS with you! I had a rush of emotions flood my mind and always, when I hear the National Anthem....yes, God bless everyone!

  9. I don't know any children - yes, public schooled - who are being taught to hate our wonderful country. Learning all sides of things is being taught how to think.

    1. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the school curriculum taught All sides of the story, and some still do, but many textbooks are now slanted toward the left and have been since the 90's. I salute any teachers who tell all the truth about American History
