Hopalong Hollowfolk....from the deep woods

I've only got a few days to finish the rest of my Woodland scene for the Gallery show, here is what I have so far....

Might have gotten a bit carried away when making the possums...

but a mama possum has a lotta kids.
. Those tails were easy to make.. they didn't need any fur.

.
Feet, hands and heads are my favorite elements while making a critter..
(and bonnets!)

.
I really worked on getting her mouth just right,

 .
and the little boy possums tongue... can you see it?

Drucilla has 2 daughters ZUZA and Ceclily, and a son named Cyrus.

.
Who says a possum can't be lovely?

The bodies come together for the fox, raccoon and the badger, this requires SO much wool!
I think Gustave Fezziwig turned out to be quite dapper.

The sad part is that I have to send these out before I've even had a chance to
 to know them better.

Parting is such sweet sorrow...

Today I will finish my Raccoon.

I am going to miss this possum family.... I sorta hope nobody buys them..

Your possum family is fantastic!! I love the way they are hanging on to mom. Yes, I can see his little tongue. Oh my, all those little toes, what a boat load of work that must have been. You did an excellent job on her mouth too. Love this set. Wish they were coming home to me. And Gustave is such a dapper little guy.
    Such outstanding work, Jeri.

    1. Penny I so love this possum family! Maybe because I can relate to possums so well, as they used to be frequent visitors here. Thank you for the Kudos my friend!

  4. Oh Jeri-these are all superb!!! You have captured the mouths perfectly. I always say that possums look like they are dead when they're alive-but you have gone beyond the creepiness and made them perfectly adorable. I LOVE the little fingers. Lovely, lovely!

    1. Debra, It's a sorta of sweet creepiness for sure! I really worked on her lips and nose. I wouldn't want to make any more fingers and toes, what a job that is.

  5. Jeri,You are amazing! Each of your characters are true to their breed and then crafted with personality. The possum family is adorable, but I must say Gustave is my favorite! ♥

    1. Martha, Gustave seems to be a favorite on the wool facebook page too. The fact that I paint and draw these creatures for my books, really helps when I sculpt them. I often refer to my own paintings for reference.

  6. Oh my. Opossum are such awful creatures, but she is incredible. And yes, the expression on each of them is exquisite and rather whimsical. And why that young fox is quite the handsome fellow. All such lovely work.

    1. Locust, I was surprised at how many people actually like possums when I put these pics on my facebook page. I do like possums; they eat slugs and large insects and are rather docile. Of course, they also steal catfood and chicken eggs.

    1. Cathy, They'll be on display for 4 months, unless someone purchases, in which case I will have to replace them with another creature. So much work went into them, I really hate to part with them....it almost hurts!
