Our bathroom from the past...

Hi! Long time no see! It's been a busy few months and I've been awful about keeping up this blog.

Several years ago we did a bathroom restoration that we were rather pleased with. I posted it here in many photos, but I finally made a video of the circa 1900 bathroom.
My son bought me a great new camera and I've been filming everything!
Hope you'll take a bathroom tour with me!
 Fondly, jeri

  1. Dearest Jeri Landers! UNBELIEVABLE to think that in those days, they used outhouses and who knows what for showers. In the winter, how did people do it? You have done such a wonderful renovation of this home and each detail is so YOU. I hope you've been well!

    1. All is Well Anita. It was so weird that they built the house with gas-light, but no bathroom!

  3. Jeri, your bathroom is a museum full of wonderful items at every turn! The detail you and your husband attended is truly amazing. Did you find all the pieces before beginning? I would be there every afternoon soaking in that lovely environment. ♥

  4. Yes Martha, we had all the pieces prior to starting the job. That tub is a dream!

  5. That butler's pantry is just gorgeous and perfect for your situation there. It looks to be the same vintage as our dresser and bed----late 1800's. Do the drawers have rounded joins (can't think what they are called) at the edges where the front attaches to the sides. That's what we are using to estimate the age of ours.

I was surprised to see that you don't have one of those old commodes with the tank (wooden) up at the ceiling level connected with a long pipe down where the commode part is. When I was little we lived in a house that had one of those-----at least that's what my sister who is 10 years older than I am says.

    1. Hi Vic, The drawers seem to have the typical joinery, short of like a log cabin triangle. Th The pantry originally came out of a Pennsylvania Row house.
That type of toilet was the one thing I didn't want; it seemed that it could be a hassle as far as plumbing it.. 10 ft ceilings, pipes running through the attic, NAH!

  6. Jeri - thank you dear for sharing your gorgeous bathroom. I loved it all so much. The green paint was so deliciously paired with the floral wallpaper. This must certainly have been quite a job to do. Happy new year friend. Hugs!

    1. Happy New year Debbie! We actually did that job about 6 years ago, but it's still my favorite room in the house.
