Just waiting..

I've been waiting on my books and working in my gardens. This is ALWAYS what the months of April and May look like for us. So,I really have nothing to post about except the garden work. I realize some of you do not garden, and may be thinking "Not another garden video!"
Sorry, but that is the only thing going on in Hopalong Hollow at the moment.....
.
( I am probably mis-pronouncing "La belle Epoch" tulips)

Not just one, but two videos....

  1. The waiting, the PROCESS, is often overlooked. But it's in this period of time that so much is learned! I know you are enjoying it and just know dear Jeri, that I am too. Our snow has finally melted and now, the waiting begins.

  3. Oh Jeri, yours are the most beautiful gardens. It is finally warming here and buds are forming. Have seeds to plant today and though I hate it, ant granules to spread.

  4. Donna, Thank you! I don't know where I got my love of gardening. My mother had a distinct dislike for gardening due to the fact that she alone took care of the Victory Garden during the war years... she never got over it.

  6. Hmmm....I wonder if living in hot, humid Florida if I should plant bulbs. Not sure if they would do well in Florida. Will have to look into it.

    1. Belinda, Tulip Bulbs need a fairly long cooling off period of many months, But I don't see why you couldn't provide it artificially in the refrigerator or a cold basement area. I'm sure that would work. You would want to use tubs or planters As for Daffodils and Alliums, you could certainly plant those.

  7. Jeri - I certainly never tire of seeing your gorgeous flowers and gardens. The paths and ornaments make it all come so alive. Will be thinking in the fall about planting my tulips in tubs. Such an excellent idea. Easy way to dig them up when they are done flowering and planting something else later in the season. Hope you are enjoying those early spring days. They are such a delight! Have a great weekend. Hugs!

  8. Hey Debbie, I am already digging them out of the tubs to store, it's pretty convenient. Especially since I want to use those tubs for something else now.

  9. Oh no no no Jeri.. NEVER tire of garden videos :) My bee house and greenhouse are finished, but we've had lots of rain so I'm just getting around to preparing the sites where I'm going to put them. I need to level the space and put down landscape cloth and mulch. Then I get to have the fun of filling them... WhooHoo! lol Happy gardening to all the gardeners here :)
